In an increasingly global society, the relevance of international boundaries is becoming more important to yet paradoxically less apparent in our day to day lives. The interdisciplinary study of nations and how they interact, from the historical origins of the notion of nationalism.
A bachelor's degree in IR provides a solid foundation for diverse career options. These include those associated with law, business, politics and government, foreign service, teaching, international development and most professional programs. Post-graduate programs in IR are also available at many universities in Canada and around the world. The UBC Okanagan International Relations Program has a strong record of successful graduates.
